Why can't I scan my photo?
Many people ask;
Why can't I scan my photo? even if its for a "for sale" ad and Vidal Photography doesn't even charge me a fee for this? Why not just scan it into my computer and send it to the publication myself?
We want to help you to understand copyright laws and also show you that there is more to it than just a copyright.
Vidal Photography wants to represent your horse or pony in the highest quality possible. Every time you scan a photo you are loosing resolution. Below is a photo that was sent to us by a customer that had an 8x10 photo given to them when they purchased a horse, not knowing it was a scanned copy. They wanted to use it in an ad and contacted me for permission. upon further investigation we discovered no- sticker on the back and very poor quality, it was infact not a Vidal Photography original print. In the end, we were able to locate the photo and they got the image and were able to have a respectful looking ad. Below is the scanned copy and the file directly from Vidal Photography; Which one would you prefer?
